Training!!

10-10-08
The wind blew crazy all night and you can't see four blocks for the dust in the air!!
It is supposed to gust to 55 mph today so we will keep them in the loft.
Looks like it will get better tomorrow and we will take them 70 one more time and then 100 miles.

10-9-08
We gave the birds a day off and they are enjoying a bath.

10-8-08 Toss 16 - 70 miles
Went to Rainbow again and Cecil reports they BLASTED out of there. Here at home we have some coming out of the south telling us they overflew!!

10-7-08 Toss 15 - 70 miles
Cecil took the birds to Rainbow and they had a very good toss. Rainbow gives them a run at the mountains and is one of the better places to train. They will go back to Rainbow in the morning.

10-6-08 Toss 14- 50 miles
Nice day but a tough one!! No reason I can find why they would have trouble.
Oh well it training for the Big Day!

10-5-08 Toss 13 - 50 miles
WOW what a georgous day!! It rained a little about midnight,sometimes we don't get measurable precipation for months!! Not a cloud in the sky and no wind.When they get home they will bath and lounge around for a spell.
The first time we release them together will be the 100 mile race.We will enter each bird into the race just like race day so we can see if all chips are working.

10-4-08
The wind is bad again today and they will stay in the loft. It looks like this is the cold front moving through that we needed 10 days ago!! It is calling for 40MPH gusts this morning and I believe it. It is howling out there.Forcast for Sunday is perfect so we will take them 50 miles.

All of these birds have been hurt by wires, please contact us and we will arrange getting them to you.

It is to windy to train today and supposed to gust to 30MPH this morning.
We will have them in the air Sunday!!

10-2-08
Inventory after 12 tosses and 3 times, 35 miles over the mountains.
Debbie, Cecil and I are excited that we have these great birds to work with. Most of these will be here for the Big Race!!

10-2-08 Toss 12 - 35 miles
They were tossed 40 at a time and came well.We will
go 50 miles tomorrow and Saturday they will stay home.
I plan flying the 100 next Friday October 10th weather permitting.
